GD Energy Products (GDEP) has launched the new 7500 XD drilling module, a purpose-built solution developed to help drilling contractors extend module life, improve reliability and maximize uptime in demanding drilling applications.
Developed in direct response to customer feedback and real-world field challenges, the 7500 XD addresses two critical factors affecting drilling operations: module life and serviceability. Wear around critical bore sealing surfaces can shorten module life and ultimately require module repair, while routine service can require multiple components, tools and service steps.
The 7500 XD features an advanced sealing system that combines advanced bore seal technology with field-replaceable sealing components to better protect critical wear areas. Worn bores can be restored in the field, helping reduce the need for module repair, extend module life and improve reliability.
“The 7500 XD was developed around what our customers told us they needed in the field: longer module life, greater reliability and easier maintenance,” said Chris Degginger, vice president of engineering at GD Energy Products. “By focusing on critical wear areas and serviceability, we’ve engineered a module that helps customers complete required maintenance faster and maximize drilling uptime.”
Designed for Serviceability
The 7500 XD is designed to make required maintenance faster and easier through simplified access to frequently serviced components. Falcon Technology features a single-piece, twist-in retainer with no retainer fasteners required, while GDEP’s SafeLock hammerless valve cover lock further simplifies access for service.
With fewer components and tools required, crews can reduce maintenance complexity and complete routine service more efficiently.
Engineered for Strength
Each 7500 XD module is manufactured from individually forged, heat-treated alloy steel, the 7500 XD uses GDEP’s proprietary Autofrettage manufacturing process for exceptional strength and fatigue resistance. Optimized internal geometry minimizes operating stresses to support dependable, long-lasting performance in demanding drilling applications. The module is also DNV certifiable for global application readiness.
